Disneyland Resort has a "lostfound" for anyone who happens to lose something while at one of the theme parks or Downtown Disney. It's located in the esplanade area to the east of Disney's California Adventure Park's main entrance. The cast members are very helpful, and sympathetic to those who come to report their loss. In fact, they go above and beyond what is required to soothe the disappointment of losing something. I want to give you a wonderful example of their caring.
On one of our many trips to the Disneyland Resort, we were in Disneyland Park one morning. We had just eaten a character breakfast at the Plaza Inn and were regrouping outside on a bench before starting out toward Tommorrowland. My daughter had just gotten lots of autographs at the breakfast and I had put her autograph album and pen in a bag. Unfortunately, we walked off and left it on the bench. We realized that it was missing over an hour later. My 7 year old daughter was very distraught. Immediately, we headed back to the bench and looked around, but it was nowhere to be found. We inquired at the Plaza Inn and any other place we had visited, just in case we had left it there. Finally we decided to ask a helpful cast member who directed us to the Resort Lost and Found to file a report. We talked to a very caring cast member at the lost and found who first checked to see if the book had been turned in, and then had us fill out a report, since it was not there. Unfortunately, I had not put my daughter's name, or any identifying information inside of her book to differentiate it from other lost autograph books (a lesson learned). However, it was a bright red "Creative Memories" album, so it was a little bit unique and I was able to list the autographs that my daughter had gotten in it. The cast member then asked how many more days we had to visit the theme parks. We informed her that we were leaving the next morning. She went into the back for a moment, and then returned with an autograph book for my daughter, that had two or three character autographs in it. My daughter's little face just lit up and I was very relieved and appreciative. The story has an even better ending. About ten days after we arrived home, my daughter received a box from the Disneyland Resort. Inside was her autograph album, carefully wrapped, plus a special note from one of the cast members!
